The Landlord Law online service has moved from landlordlaw.co.uk to this site landlordlawservices.co.uk. All existing Landlord Law members will need to sign up again here. Below are some answers to your questions.

The software that runs our old site was getting outdated and we can provide a better service on this new site.
For example, the forum software is much better and we will be able to integrate some of our other products and services (such as the kits and online courses)

It won’t. This new Landlord Law site is a completely new build and works in a different way. You need to sign up again and set a new login.
The login for the old site won’t work in the same way that you can’t use the keys for your old house to open the front door of a new and different house.
Existing members will remain a member of the old site until they transfer. After you have signed up to the new site, you will be given access to the old website for up to six months to allow you to download any documents stored there.
However, we are not accepting any new members on the old site. New Landlord Law members can only join the new service.
No. As an existing Landlord Law member, you will be entitled to a preferential rate.
We will notify you of this via email at the email address we have for you and send you sign-up links for the special ‘legacy’ membership type you qualify for.
You will be sent an email giving details. Many members of the old site have already had their ‘transfer email’.
However, as they are all being sent out individually by Tessa, they cannot all be sent at once! Most members will get their transfer email in the month before their renewal date.
You can continue as a monthly member of the old site for the time being.
However, you will need to transfer over at some time and we suggest this is done sooner rather than later.
In your transfer email, we will give the date when your next payment is due. We suggest you sign up to the new site on or about that date, or the renewal date next month if you don’t get around to it in time this month.

This is a one time offer though. If you elect to transfer as a monthly member you will not be able to take advantage of the lower annual rate later.
If you had +plus membership on the old Landlord Law site, you will transfer over as a Business Level member.
If you are one of our longstanding ‘original’ members who have an annual ‘standard’ membership on the old site, you can either continue at that rate and get a ‘Basic Level’ membership, or you can upgrade to Business Level membership at a preferential rate.

Yes. Please let us know via our contact form, and we will send your transfer email early.
Once you have transferred and your payment is received we will also arrange to refund a proportionate part of your old Landlord Law membership fee if appropriate.
Ideally, we will be able to make a partial refund off your last payment. However, if your payment was made a while ago the system may not allow this. Or you may have paid by BACS where we cannot do this.
In which case we will have to find another way to do this. One way is making a payment to you via pay pal. Or we can provide you with a Landlord Law coupon which you can offset against future purchases (if you agree to this it will be for slightly more than your refund figure).
If you provide us with your bank details we could also do a BACS transfer. Note however that we prefer to avoid payment by cheque.
If it is possible for us to do a refund via the system we will just do this and let you know. Otherwise, we will email you and ask you which option you prefer.
For this version of Landlord Law, we require everyone to sign up via the online system. This allows us to keep better records and provide you with a downloadable pdf VAT receipt – which will be available via your My Account area.
We are asking our transfer members also to sign up to a direct debit arrangement via the GoCardless service. This will eliminate problems we have had in the past with payments failing due to credit card changes.
Your preferential transfer rates are conditional upon this.
Should you wish to cancel your membership at any time, it is easy to cancel the GoCardless payment arrangement.
Most of the preferential rates are only available for existing members of our old site.
However, we may consider allowing you a preferential signup rate if you have been a member for at least three consecutive years in the period 2013 – 2018.

As discussed above, we require all members to pay via our online system.
I am afraid we will no longer invoice members. However, you will be able to download a VAT receipt after payment which should satisfy your accounts department.
First please check your spam folder. If the email is not there, please contact us using our contact form and we will get back to you.
It may be that you have changed your email address and not told us, in which case your transfer email will have gone to your old email address.
No, this is not possible. Although the document generator system, from the user’s point of view, works in a similar way, it is in fact very different.
So if you want to re-issue a tenancy agreement you will need to create it again on this site. After that however, it will remain available for you to re-use in the same way as the documents on the old site were.
After you have signed up to the new Landlord Law you will be given up to six months access to the old Landlord Law (provided you remain a member of the new site) to allow you to download the documents stored there.
We will ask you to complete a ‘transfer form’ which will give us some feedback and where you can tell us how long you will need access to the old website.
We will be setting up a new ‘Teams’ membership. However, this will not be available until later in the New Year as it is necessary for us to do some development work first so it works the way we want it to.
If you want to move over before this, we can let you have individual memberships in the meantime and then move you to the Teams system when it becomes available.
