Checking a property

One of our regular webinar trainers is independent housing consultant Dave Princep – and he delivered a great webinar earlier this week.

The webinar is the first in a series looking at the practical things landlords need to watch out for at various stages of a tenancy.

This webinar addressed the important things that landlords need to think about when actually buying the property in the first place.

Very important as you will not want to be stuck with a property which will require expensive renovation works before you can rent it to tenants.

So, for example, he discussed:

  • the 29 hazards under the Housing Health and Safety Rating system – such as excess cold, trips and falls and damp and mould issues
  • Things you need to consider with regard to energy efficiency, and
  • Ending with a list of key things you need to look at

It was an exceptionally useful webinar and essential watching for all landlords thinking of investing in a new property.

The webinar recording is now available (for business level members only) here.  Along with pdf’s of Dave’s notes and power point.

Note that in future – the monthly webinars (including this one) will form the basis of our new CPD service which I will be introducing in a week or so.  So watch this space …
